As you know, we English people just love to carp on and on about the weather. There’s a reason for this – the weather is, er, somewhat changeable. We can have sunshine for weeks (really), but more commonly we have a few days of sun and a few days of cloud (and often rain…although perhaps not as often as you might think in the south of England, and mostly it’s gentle showers). We can also have sun and rain on the same day, as well as sometimes having two, three or even four seasons on the same day too. Climate change has only added to this weather craziness. My advice is very much to come prepared; bring an umbrella and a raincoat with you – and some suncream and a hat…even a parasol! – so you can enjoy almost all activities whatever the weather. It’s also a good idea to bring some walking shoes or trainers with you.
